The
Tihuta(Bargau) Pass
The Tihuta Pass is located in the
south-eastern part of Bargau Mountains at an altitude of 1201
meters. Through this pass the connection between Bistrita
and Vatra Dornei is made. This is where you can find the Dracula
Complex.
The Setref Pass
The Setref Pass is located between
Rodna Mountains and Tibles Mounatains, at an altitude of 817
meters.
The Predeal Pass
The Predeal Pass is situated at
an altitude of 1040 meters, nearby the spring of Prahova River.
The Lainici Pass
The Lainici Pass is situated between
Parang Mountain and Valcan Mountain, on Jiu Valley at an altitude
of 513 meters.
The Cozia Pass
The Cozia Pass is situated on the
middle course of Olt River at an altitude of 300 meters.
The Bicaz Pass
The Bicaz Pass is situated in the
central part of Hasmas Mountains, on the upper course of Bicaz
River, at an altitude of 1257 meters.
The Prislop Pass
The Prislop Pass is situated between
Maramures Mountains and Rodna Mountain at an altitude of 1416
meters.
The Bistriciora Pass
The Bistriciora Pass is situated
in the northern part of Giurgeu Mountains at an altitude of
1105 meters. Through this pass the connection between Toplita
and Borsec is made.
The Vlahita Pass
The Vlahita Pass is situated in
the central part of Harghita Mountains at an altitude of 985
meters. Through this pass the connection between Miercurea
Ciuc and Odorheiu Secuiesc is made.
The Bucin Pass
The Bucin Pass is situated in the
central part of Gurghiu Mountains at an altitude of 1287 meters.
Through this pass the connection between Moldavia and Transylvania
is made.
The Tusnad Pass
The Tusnad Pass is situated at
an altitude of 650 meters, on the upper course of Olt River.
Through this pass the connection between Brasov Depression
and Giurgeu-Ciuc Depression is made.
The Ghimes Pass
The Ghimes Pass is situated in
the western part of Ciuc Mountains, on the upper course of
Trotus River, at an altitude of 1170 meters.
The Ditrau Pass
The Ditrau Pass is situated between
Giurgeu Mountains and Suhard Mountains, nearby the spring
of Putna River, at an altitude of 1036 meters.
The Uz Pass
The Uz Pass is situated between
Ciuc Mountains and Nemira Mountains, nearby the spring of
Uz River, at an altitude of 1085 meters.
The Mestecanis Pass
The Mestecanis Pass is situated
in the south-eastern part of Obcina Mestecanis Mountain, at
an altitude of 1096 meters. Through this pass the connection
between Dornelor Depression and Campulung Moldovenesc Depression.
The Bratocea Pass
The Bratocea Pass is situated in
the western part of Ciucas Mountains, on the upper course
of Teleajen River, at an altitude of 1263 meters. Here you
can admire a strange relief form called Porumbelul Bratocei
(the Bratocea’s Pigeon).
The Bran (Giuvala)
The Bran Pass is situated between
Piatra Craiului Mountains and Leaota Mountains on one side
and Bucegi Mountains on the other side, at an altitude of
1290 m. Through this pass the connection between Campulung
Depression and Brasov Depression.
The Valcan Pass
The Valcan Pass is situated in
the eastern part of Valcan Mountains, at an altitude of 1621
meters. Through this pass in the past used to cross an old
commercial road which connected Transylvania with Oltenia
Region (situated in the central part of Romania).
